Vani Parti is an experienced litigator who represents employers in all aspects of employment-related litigation before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and arbitration panels. Her practice focuses on wage-and-hour class, collective, and private attorney general representative actions.

Vani’s litigation experience also includes defense of employment discrimination, retaliation and harassment claims. In addition, Vani counsels clients on compliance measures and various policies and procedures. Vani has developed particular expertise in developing materials to guide registry and domestic referral agencies through AB-5.

Vani has presented and trained employers on various topics including sexual harassment, arbitration agreements, employment-related issues impacting start-ups, hiring and firing procedures.

  • Second chaired a bench trial for a not-for-profit internet safety organization in a lawsuit for failure to pay final wages and all hours worked including overtime and vacation wages 
  • Represented a global technology company in a wage-and-hour class and representative action regarding failure to provide meal periods, rest breaks, and timely final wages
  • Represented a global technology company and a global retailer in a wage-and-hour representative action regarding suitable seating 
  • Represented a national retailer in employment-related matters, including representative actions
  • Represented a global telecommunications company and its affiliates in employment-related matters, including defense of claims involving employee termination and alleged discrimination
  • Represented one of the world's largest car rental providers in successfully defeating class certification in a wage-and-hour class and representative action 
  • Represented a national corporation providing project management and staff support to federal, state, and local governments and successfully defeated class certification of Section 1981 claims
  • Represented a national healthcare entity and its affiliates in various matters, including defense of representative actions and discrimination claims
  • Represented a global automotive services leader in employment-related matters, including defense of threatened employment litigation, representative actions, terminations and discrimination lawsuits
  • Represented a large software company in a class and representative action regarding alleged overtime rounding claims and derivative theories
  • Represented a leading provider of inventory counting services in employment-related matters, including governmental audits, defense of wage-and-hour collective and representative actions, and employment decisions
  • Represented a global healthcare services company and its affiliates in a wage-and-hour class, collective, and representative action regarding misclassification of employees
  • Conducted declaration drives in misclassification lawsuits, including for a leading rideshare provider, radio broadcaster, and home furnishings company
  • Represented and counseled various referral agencies regarding AB-5 and independent contractor classification
  • Represented mortgage lending provider in a collective action with misclassification claims
