His practice includes global maintenance, prosecution and enforcement of trademark and certification mark portfolios, including of nontraditional marks, for leading consumer goods brands, global retailers, information technology services companies, certification organizations, international franchises, financial institutions, and companies in the health and wellness space. He has considerable experience in trademark search and clearance matters as well as intellectual property (IP) due diligence for transactional and security agreements. Alberto regularly manages critical launch and rebranding efforts and related transactions, including the acquisition of domain names, social media handles, trademark registrations, and other IP assets. He also advises on copyright prosecution and infringement matters and designs enforcement strategies for leading online publications and software and video game development companies.
Alberto is a native Spanish speaker and highly involved with client matters in Latin America, including copyright title and pre-publication review and clearance for both boutique production companies and global entertainment corporations.
In his pro bono practice, Alberto assists global conservation, research, and community development organizations on a variety of IP matters. He also frequently volunteers at local immigration clinics and has successfully represented foreign nationals in asylum cases.
