Patricia Zapata

Patricia Zapata’s practice focuses on litigation in federal and state courts throughout the United States with an emphasis on disputes arising in the franchise context. Patricia has significant experience handling appellate work concerning claims of franchisee misclassification and enforcing arbitration agreements.

Patricia is a high-energy litigator who regularly handles complex matters, including multidistrict litigation and federal appellate litigation. She also manages cases through alternative dispute resolution forums, including arbitrations and meditations. Patricia has represented individuals and multinational corporations alike. At the trial level, Patricia has experience drafting dispositive motions, engaging in discovery, and assisting in trying cases. She collaborates regularly with her colleagues who specialize in numerous practice areas, including civil investigations and employment disputes. Patricia also maintains an active pro bono practice. She has handled multiple criminal appeals in New York and also works with retired military personnel to apply for Combat-Related Special Compensation. Patricia clerked for the Honorable Edward S. Kiel, US District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the Honorable Sandra J. Feuerstein, District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
