Following our successful series of transfer pricing masterclasses in the UK, we will be hosting this masterclass in South Africa.

The masterclass is designed to combine legal and economic perspectives bringing our experience from training and working with worldwide tax authorities. Our multinational in-house experience, technical knowledge and practical expertise from an accounting and legal point of view will enhance the masterclass. Its objective is to provide in-house tax and legal professionals with the tools to optimise and defend transfer pricing structures globally.

The masterclass will include specific experience from the DLA Piper network internationally and the African region. It will cover important aspects of transfer pricing from planning, implementing, reviewing, managing risk and controversy. It will also highlight key points to consider in areas less often covered, such as the broader tax and stakeholder environment that transfer pricing sits.

These interactive sessions are delivered by a team of international experts from DLA Piper UK and South Africa.

The masterclass will include:

  • Knowing the issues: Identifying transfer pricing risk and opportunity.
  • Landing the value: Centralised controversy management for transfer pricing.
  • Interested in interest: Financial transactions in transfer pricing.
  • FACTS: Transfer pricing documentation.
  • Between the uprights: Valuations in tax and transfer pricing.
  • Doing your duty: Transfer pricing, tax and beyond.

Who should attend?

All tax and legal personnel engaged in tax and transfer pricing strategy, management and controversy are welcome to attend.

Why attend?

The focus of the masterclass is to provide an understanding and structure for the topics listed above with practical issues handled by the in-house team on a daily basis. Further, there will be discussions around managing emerging guidance from the OECD, the UN and applicable case law. The common pitfalls and how to avoid them will also be highlighted.

This event forms an important part of our value added services offering to clients to stay abreast of new legal developments and network informally with international tax experts.
