DLA Piper advises Critical Start in US$40 million investment from Bregal Sagemount

DLA Piper represented Texas-based cybersecurity firm Critical Start in a US$40 million minority investment by Bregal Sagemount.

Critical Start plans to use the funds to significantly expand its market presence for the company's managed detection and response (MDR) services as it expands nationally, including new field offices in Los Angeles and New York City, to serve enterprise customers and its network of channel partners.

The DLA Piper team representing Critical Start was led by partner Eric Grossman (Northern Virginia) and included partners Stacy Paz (Silicon Valley) and Thomas Hendershot (Northern Virginia); of counsel Matthew VanderGoot and Sanjay Beri (both of Northern Virginia); attorney Cara Hupprich (Northern Virginia); and associate Katie Lee (New York).
