DLA Piper has appointed Mr. Mikko Huimala, a distinguished competition lawyer as Head of Competition and Regulatory in Finland.
Mikko Huimala has extensive experience in competition and regulatory matters. He advises Finnish and international companies in all aspects of competition law, including compliance matters, proceedings before the competition authorities and courts, as well as merger control. He is also highly experienced in regulatory matters, particularly in the telecommunications and energy sectors.
Mikko joins DLA Piper from another leading law firm. Prior to joining private practice in 2006, he gained several years of experience in investigating cartel and other competition law infringement cases in the Finnish Competition Authority and the networks of competition authorities. Mikko holds a post-graduate diploma in competition law economics from King’s College London. He has co-authored an in-depth textbook on EU and Finnish competition law and published several articles on competition law. Mikko is also the President of the Finnish Competition Law Association.
