DLA Piper Canada is pleased to announce that our Intellectual Property and Technology practice group now includes two more lawyers who are qualified Patent Agents in Canada. Our experienced Patent Agent team has been augmented by both the arrival of Richard Mar in our group and by the recent qualification of Michal Kasprowicz as a Registered Patent Agent.
Richard Mar, who recently joined the firm, is a registered Patent Agent in Canada, is qualified to practice before the US Patent and Trademarks Office and is called to the bar in Ontario, B.C. and New York State. Richard has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications and developing global patent filing strategies for clients. He has drafted hundreds of patent applications for clients ranging from sole inventors to large multinational corporations. Richard has a Master of Science degree in Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Chemistry.
Michal Kasprowicz, who was called to the Bar in Ontario in 2013, recently qualified as a Patent Agent. Michal Kasprowicz’s practice covers all areas of intellectual property law, with a focus on patent and trademark litigation. He has prosecuted patent applications for large and small innovators. Michal has a B.A.Sc. (Electrical Engineering) and prior to entering law school, he worked as an engineer in the power distribution field.
