David Church is International Development Partner of DLA Piper. Since 1999 he has been heavily involved in the international development of the firm particularly in Europe, the Middle East and the merger which created the global entity in January 2005.

David was based in Dubai from January 2006, concentrating on office openings in the Middle East and development in India and Africa. He relocated to the London office from the Middle East in July 2010 since when he has been working on the development of DLA Piper's Africa practice and particularly the DLA Piper Africa alliance of law firms in Africa.

David graduated in Law from University College London and qualified as an English solicitor in 1975. He practised in the UK and Brussels, principally as a commercial and regulatory lawyer, until 1998 when he joined DLA Piper and opened the firm's first office in Continental Europe (in Brussels).
