Sang Kim is a member of the firm's Global Executive Committee, Global Sector Managing Director, and Co-Head of the Asia Committee. He has practiced for more than 30 years, primarily in Silicon Valley.

A long-time Chambers-recognized tax lawyer and former head of the firm's global tax practice, Sang is widely regarded as a go-to strategist in the technology sector. He is known for combining tax, legal, financial, and business considerations to develop innovative, practical, and commercially focused solutions. Over the course of his career, he has advised hundreds of clients across a broad range of industries, including technology, life sciences, energy, consumer products, and industrials.

Sang regularly serves as a strategic relationship partner and executive sponsor for multinational companies, leading multidisciplinary teams across jurisdictions and practices while advising on complex cross-border transactions, growth initiatives, and critical business operations. His experience spans a wide range of sectors, including software, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, batteries, biotechnology, cybersecurity, consumer electronics, retail, medical devices, and e-commerce.

He also leads the firm's US-Asia strategy, working closely with management teams of Asia-based multinational companies to evaluate and navigate complex cross-border investments, expansion opportunities, and business operations in the United States and other key global markets.

Civic, Charitable and Board Activities

Sang was most recently a Board member of Meltwater, a global publicly traded media intelligence software company. He was a member of the Audit Committee and also led the special committee of the Board through the go-private process including engagement with an activist investor resulting in a successful sale to a consortium of private equity firms.

Sang is Chair of the Bronx Science Foundation focusing on endowment development and strategic planning and support for a leading specialized public high school in New York City. He is a founding member of Fund Development Council West for Columbia College. In the past, Sang served on the Law Board at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. He also served for many years as a Little League baseball and youth basketball coach.
