DLA Piper partner Dean Fealk elected to Council on Foreign Relations

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Dean Fealk, managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office, has been elected a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Founded in 1921, the CFR is the premier nonprofit think tank specializing in US foreign policy and international affairs. Its members include leading executives, senior politicians, more than a dozen secretaries of state, CIA directors, bankers, lawyers, professors and senior media figures.

Fealk, co-chair of DLA Piper's International Labor and Employment practice, counsels multinational companies on international transactional and regulatory matters. He also advises government leaders and politicians around the world on public policy issues related to international trade, economics and security.

“Dean actively exemplifies the concept of ‘citizen statesperson,’ by bringing together political and business leaders from around the world to discuss and work on the big, intractable issues of the day,” said Victoria Lee, DLA Piper’s regional managing partner for Northern California. “Our community and clients benefit tremendously from his leadership and his appointment to the Council on Foreign Relations stands as a fitting testament.”

Active in civic leadership, Fealk co-founded the Halifax International Security Forum, the leading international affairs gathering in North America, and Transatlantic West, which brings together business and policy leaders from Europe and the San Francisco Bay Area. He chairs the Northern California District Export Council and serves on the California Workforce Development Board and the board of directors of the Bay Area Council and the California Business Roundtable. He has been designated an honorary Senator of the German Economy, an Eisenhower Fellow, a Marshall Memorial Fellow and a Presidential Leadership Scholar. Fealk is a graduate of Leadership San Francisco. The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal selected Fealk for its list of California's Top 75 Labor & Employment Lawyers.
