  • The firm achieved Certified Plus status for 4.0 in 2021, which added a pilot measuring the diversity of lawyers staffed to matters arising from formal pitches. The firm is a signatory to Mansfield Rule 5.0, which adds a category for hiring and promoting of the most senior level professional staff roles in recognition of the important role that business professionals play in law firm leadership.

  • In 2021, DLA Piper has received Top Performer and Compass Award designations from the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) in recognition of its deep involvement in LCLD’s programs and its efforts to promote LCLD’s mission to build more diverse organizations and a more inclusive legal profession.

  • In 2021, and for the ninth year, DLA Piper received Gold Standard Certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF), which recognizes the leadership roles achieved by women equity partners.

  • In 2021, and for the tenth year, DLA Piper was named one of the ’50 Best Law Firms for Women’ by Seramount (Working Mother Media) in recognition of our success in hiring, retaining and promoting women; commitment to providing flexible work arrangements; and initiatives that enhance the advancement of women in law.

  • In 2021, and for fourteen consecutive years, DLA Piper has earned a rating of 100 percent in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index. This consistently perfect score is recognition that DLA Piper is one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.”

  • The firm achieved Mansfield 3.0 Certified Plus status in 2020, which incorporated disabled lawyers into the definition of diversity as well as measures the diversity of pitch teams and again attained Certified Plus status for 4.0 in 2021, which added a pilot measuring the diversity of lawyers staffed to matters arising from formal pitches.   • In 2019, the Financial Times named DLA Piper the top law firm for Innovation in the Business of Law: Diversity and Inclusion as part of the FT North America Innovative Lawyers 2019 awards.
  • Also in 2019, Roger Meltzer, Global Co-Chairman and Americas Co-Chairman, was named to the National Law Journal’s inaugural list of Equality Trailblazers. The list honors lawyers who have made outstanding efforts to impact gender and LGBT+ equality in both in their respective firms and the legal industry as a whole.
  • In 2018, Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel named Stasia Kelly, our former US Managing Partner, the Managing Partner of the Year in its National Women in Law Awards.
