To assist your organisation with understanding the practical implications of the new Regulation we will be hosting a series of events. These will be in the form of seminars, webinars, round tables and workshops on ensure GDPR compliance.

Data Protection Officer Training Academy

A three day course to prepare you and your organisation for the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

The DPO Training Academy is aimed at IT, compliance and legal professionals or anyone who is taking on the role of Data Protection Officer. It will provide practical, interactive guidance on how to establish and manage compliance as a DPO, consistent with the many requirements of the GDPR.

Upon completion, participants will be equipped with knowledge of the relevant legal, technical and operational skills needed to successfully fulfill the DPO role. Participants will also receive a comprehensive toolkit of supporting guidance notes and template documents to use in this role. A certificate of attendance will be issued on completion of the course.

Setting up a privacy compliance programme

  • How to create a sustainable and effective privacy programme

The day-to-day role of the DPO

  • Exploring the day-to-day activities of the DPO and other privacy programme resources

The role of the DPO in crisis situations

  • How to reduce the risk of data breaches
  • How to "fit" privacy within and develop engagement across your organisation

  • When to engage in and refrain from litigation

How will the training be delivered?

The DPO Training Academy will combine workshop-style interactive training, case studies and traditional teaching methods to deliver a fully rounded learning experience.

Sessions will be led by senior members of DLA Piper's Global Data Protection, Privacy and Information Security team, as well as recognised industry experts. Course leaders bring hands-on experience of advising on and managing complex data protection legal and operational projects across Europe.

Participation in each DPO Training Academy is deliberately limited to a small group of participants to enable interactive discussions between peers.

Finland - EU GDPR Breakfast Seminar Series

  • Seminar one: 8 September 2017, 08.30-11.00
    In this session we will hold a discussion of the key obligations set out by the new Regulation for data controllers and service providers, and the current status of the national application of the Regulation. We will also present a suggested data protection compliance readiness process which companies should perform prior to May 2018. We will be presenting our electronic tools designed to be utilised during the compliance readiness process and for on-going management. This seminar will be presented in Finnish.   • Seminar two: 6 October 2017, 08.30-11.00
    In this session we will go into the technical and functional requirements the Regulation has set out for the data systems of organisations. The data systems must support the requirements of the Regulation regarding, inter alia, administration of access rights, data security, collection and removal of data and other rights of the data subjects.   • Seminar three: 10 November 2017, 08.30-11.00
    In this last session we will discuss the documentation requirements set out by the Regulation on a general level and specifically regarding the contracts of companies. The Regulation sets out specific and detailed requirements regarding the contents of contracts that include the processing of personal data. The Regulation already affects the liability and indemnity clauses in contracts regarding subcontracting, outsourcing and cloud services. This seminar will be presented in Finnish. Pourquoi et comment se conformer à la règlementation marocain et européenne sur la protection des données personnelles?

Depuis le fin de l'année 2012, la conformité à la loi marocaine n°09-08 relative à la protection des données personnelles est obligatoire. La CNDP a toujours privilégié l'approche de la sensibilisation, de la pédagogie et de la collaboration à celle de la répression. Néanmoins, afin de garder une certaine crédibilité envers les partenaires étrangers du Maroc, la CNDP renforcera les contrôles et, le cas échéant, appliquera les sanctions prévues par la loi à l'encontre des responsables de traitement qui ne s'y conforment pas.

En mai 2018, le Règlement Général sur la Protection des Données personnelles (RGPD) entrera en vigueur. Certaines entités marocaines, notammant de par la provenance européenne des données qu'elles traitent, devront s'y conformer; faute de quoi, elles s'exposent à des sanctions qui peuvent s'avérer beaucoup plus lourdes que les sanctions nationales.

Au cours de cette matinale, nous vous proposerons les regards croisés de Mehdi Kettani et de Florence Guthfreund-Roland sur la législation nationale et européenne sur les données personnelles. Nos intervenants analyserons notamment les principaux droits des personnes concernées, les obligations de ceux qui traitent leurs données, comment mettre en place des programmes de conformité à ces règlementations et les principales sanctions en cas de non-conformité.
