András Orbán is the head of Equity Capital Markets at DLA Piper Hungary. His main areas of practice are capital market transactions and complex private and public mergers and acquisitions. He works with domestic and international clients as well.
András has participated in numerous capital markets transactions and has gained substantial experience in public M&A deals. During his professional career, he has worked on several mandatory public takeover bids and, in recent years, has played a leading role in some of the most significant public transactions (IPOs) on the Hungarian capital market, acting as lead counsel and primary client contact.
He has also advised many complex domestic and international private M&A deals on the seller and on the buyer side as well. András has gained significant experience in the banking sector, he was part of the core legal team advising the merger of Budapest Bank, MKB Bank and Takarékbank, one of the biggest mergers in the Hungarian banking sector in recent years. For this transaction DLA Piper Hungary was awarded with the prestigious 2020 CEE Deal of the Year Award in Hungary.
In addition, András has advised on a wide range of complex domestic and cross-border private M&A transactions on both the sell-side and the buy-side, and has extensive experience in project management.
