Pia Sabatier is specialised in the creation of and fundraising for French, foreign and pan-European private equity, infrastructure and real estate investment funds. She notably has a focus on venture and impact funds.

She also advises portfolio managers in their activities (representation of institutional and corporate investors, AIFMD and SFDR regulatory aspects) as well as fund managers and investors on secondary transactions.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a consortium of 6 development finance institutions (DFI) with respect to an investment in a fund dedicated to African small cap investments.
  • Advising Bpifrance on the structuring and fundraising of the ‘Bpifrance Spark Fund’, aimed at promoting gender parity in private equity funds, in partnership with JP Morgan.
  • Creating Igniter Europe, launched by General Inception, a hybrid structure set up as a startup incubator to initiate and support innovative, bio- and deeptech projects active in the healthcare sector and located in Europe to achieve proof of concept.
  • Assisting AVP (Atlantic Vantage Point), formerly AXA Venture Partners for the creation of the third vintage of AVP Venture (a fund dedicated to technology-enabled start-ups across different geographies and development stages, primarily early stage and venture start-ups).
  • Advising Hi Inov on the structuring and raising of its third fund (Hi Inov 3) which reached an initial closing of EUR75m.
  • Assisting Mérieux Equity Partners as part of the legal structuring and fundraising of Mérieux Innovation 2 (MI2), a fund dedicated to early-stage financing of innovative healthcare sector companies.
  • Advising the European Investment Fund (EIF) as part of several investments in French funds, notably the Expansion fund which invests in aerospace ventures.
  • Advising a middle Eastern family office with respect to secondary operations and restructuring of its portfolio.
  • Advising ArchiMed with respect to their growth platform fund MED Platform II and mid-market growth fund MED III with a healthcare focus and their co- investment vehicles.*
  • Advising Amundi on the funds aspects of the acquisition of Lyxor.*
  • Advising Bpifrance on the structuring and fundraising of Bpifrance Entreprises 2 FCPR and the concomitant completion of a secondary sale transaction.*
