UK Public Procurement Reform Webinar

Impact of the Procurement Act on UK Defence Procurement

15 May 2024 | 13:00 – 14:00 BST

What are the key changes on the horizon for defence sector procurement in the UK?

Following Royal Assent being received in relation to the Procurement Act, significant reform is expected later this year which will impact the running of public procurements in much of the UK. In this seventh edition in our series of webinars exploring the key features of the Procurement Act, we will consider the impact of the Procurement Act on UK defence procurement.

Currently subject to a separate regulatory regime, UK defence procurement will be overhauled as a result of the introduction of the Procurement Act, which will, for example, result in the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011 being repealed, and the consolidation of the law in this area into a single legislative framework.

This will have implications for both the contracting authorities running the procurements and suppliers bidding to take part in such procurements.

In the webinar we will cover an overview of the impact of the Procurement Act and some of the key changes most relevant to defence procurement.

Who should attend?

  • Individuals in a contracting authority responsible for running a procurement process
  • Individuals in organisations bidding for public sector contracts in defence
