Kenneth Lee is a Senior Associate in the Real Estate team, based in DLA Piper's Hong Kong office. He gained experience in dealing with commercial real estate transactions (including sale and purchase of shares, joint venture, asset sale and leasing matters) and advising private equity firms, funds, retail brands, REITs and other investors.

He also has experience in advising real estate investors and banks in Hong Kong on real estate financing transactions.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advised Ping An Insurance on the 30% share acquisition from and joint venture with Sun Hung Kai Properties in developing the commercial / retail complex at the West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong with consideration of around HK$ 11 billion.
  • Advised PGIM Real Estate on a joint venture with New Ease in and acquisition of a portfolio of 3 development logistics assets and 1 stabilised logistics asset in the PRC.
  • Advised PGIM Real Estate on its joint ventures with co-living operators and acquisitions of hospitality assets in Hong Kong.
  • Advised Allianz Real Estate on its acquisition of 100% stake (acquired through 2 stages) in a portfolio of 5 modern logistics assets in China.
  • Advised Hines on a joint venture with Metropolitan Real Estate to invest in a cold storage and development site in Guangzhou, PRC.
  • Advised Ernst & Young, acting as receivers, in a series of auction and tender sale of high profile commercial properties valued at HKD 1.6 billion.
  • Advised an institutional investor consortium made up of Ascent Real Estate Investors, Partners Group, Sigma Delta Partners Investment and the Family Office Company on the financing of its US$1.34 billion acquisition of Dinghao Electronics Plaza, a landmark mixed-use office and retail complex located in Zhongguancun, Beijing.
  • Advised a global real estate fund investor on the restructuring of related loans portion with four different banks in Hong Kong, including the transfer of assets in the various loan pools, and advised the client in securing 5 rounds of real estate financing in Hong Kong with operating logistics properties in the PRC.
  • Advised Five Guys in its expansion into Asia and their lease portfolios in Hong Kong.
  • Advising RDM Asia Limited on the opening of a luxury outlet mall in Hong Kong, including all services contracts, employment agreements, tenant leases and licenses.
