Sally Whitney is a Legal Director in DLA Piper's Real Estate team and is based in the London office. She has experience in all types of commercial real estate, including investment, landlord and tenant, with a particular focus on real estate finance matters.

Sally advises clients on development funding, large portfolio transactions, multi-let developments and assists with the property aspects of corporate and real estate finance transactions.

EXPERIENCE

  • As part of an overall team advising Goldman Sachs Bank USA, HSBC Bank plc and Bank of America Merrill Lynch International Limited on their financing of Tottenham Hotspur's new, multi-purpose, 61,500 seat stadium. The financing package consists of a GBP400m development term loan and a GBP25m revolving credit facility.
  • Acting for Cheyne Capital in connection with two loans worth GBP400m to provide development finance for two of its purpose-built student accommodation developments in Holborn and the City of London.
  • Acting for Close Brothers on their GBP44m facility to develop Lancaster Wharf in Birmingham which will comprise 266 apartments for rent along with a gym, rooftop garden and co-working space across a group of blocks reaching 23 storeys.
  • Acting for T Rowe Price in connection with their London head office relocation to Warwick Court, Paternoster Square, taking over 130,000 square feet of office space.
  • Advising as part of a DLA overall team on the GBP900m refinance of the real estate portfolio held by Market Tech Holdings plc.
  • Advising Access Self Storage on a group reorganisation and GBP250m refinancing provided by five different lenders but refinanced by two across the entire group UK property portfolio.
