About

Gianni Minutoli focuses on the preparation and prosecution of US and international patent applications, with emphasis on software inventions, computer networks, memory and systems, electrical circuitry, and wireless communication devices.

Gianni has extensive experience in client counseling and providing opinions regarding the patentability of new inventions, the right to use new or existing products and the infringement, validity and enforceability of US patents. Gianni has also litigated several patent cases.

Gianni has been lead and backup counsel in many post-issuance PTAB proceedings and has successfully argued an IPR hearing invalidating all of the challenged claims.

Gianni Minutoli is recognized by IAM Patent 1000 in 2019 as a leading patent practitioner.

Pro Bono

Gianni has been providing pro bono services to our veterans for almost two decades. He has helped veterans obtain VA disability benefits and Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC). Gianni has also been supervising DLA Piper's nationwide CRSC program since 2016. He became a Board member of the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) in 2017.

Prior Experience

Before becoming a lawyer, Gianni was a Senior Engineer at Northrop Grumman Norden Systems, Inc., where he participated in the design and integration of advanced radar and tracking systems. He also has worked for Telephonics Corp., where he participated in the design of system-level diagnostics for airborne radar.
