Christopher Ollech advises on national and international legal aspects of the energy industry.

Christopher assists with the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of all kinds of gas and power supply and trading agreements, including PPAs, direct marketing and flexibility agreements, and grid agreements.

He advises in the context of project developments and transactions and also represents clients in administrative as well as in contentious proceedings.

EXPERIENCE

  • Assisting project developers and investors in the context of renewable energy, battery storage and electrolyser projects.
  • Assisting in transactions in the energy sector, including the contractual and regulatory due diligence and the negotiation of the transaction documentation.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and direct marketing agreements.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating power and gas supply and trading agreements.
  • Advising market participants in relation to network connection, network access and fee regulation system.
  • Advising energy-intensive companies, investors and energy traders on the regulatory environment of the energy sector.
  • Advising on e-mobility solutions and the regulatory environment for charging infrastructure.
  • Advising CyrusOne on power grid connection aspects and waste heat supply in the context of the acquisition of a FRANKFURT WESTSIDE space for the construction of the FRA7 data centres.
  • Assisting a Scandinavian BESS developer and optimizer/trader and optimizer/trader on the proposed acquisition of the project rights for a 500MW BESS project in Germany and potentially on a further pipeline of BESS projects in Germany.
  • Assisting an electrolyser developer with regulatory analyses and the drafting, reviewing and negotiation of a long-term supply contract regarding green hydrogen from a 200 MW electrolyser located in Germany.
  • Advising BASF on the acquisition of a 49.5% stake in the world’s largest subsidy-free offshore windfarm, Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) in The Netherlands, from Vattenfall as well as the subsequent selldown of a partial participation to Allianz Capital Partners.
  • Advising a major EV OEM on regulatory framework for bi-directional charging.
