DLA Piper advises GLP on the lease of Units 7 and 8 of its logistics centre in Mönchengladbach

DLA Piper has advised GLP, a leading investor and developer of logistics real estate and distribution parks, on the lease of the c. 33,000 m2 Units 7 and 8 of its logistics centre in Mönchengladbach, Germany. The fully leased property is set to be one of the largest infrastructure facilities of its kind in Germany.

The logistics centre is located in Regiopark, the intermunicipal business park of the city of Mönchengladbach and the municipality of Jüchen, near the A 61 freeway. The property location is close to a number of key transportation hubs - only 30 minutes away from Düsseldorf International Airport, 50 minutes from Cologne Bonn International Airport and 20 minutes from Mönchengladbach Central Station. The nearby Rhine also provides access to inland waterways.

GLP's logistics centre in Mönchengladbach includes eight units, with a total area of 134,000 m2 located on the 208,000 m2 site. Special features include a large number of loading gates on both sides of the building, 136 dock levellers, five ground-level hall gates, and a two-story mezzanine area with several freight elevators totalling an area of 38,000 m2.
