DLA Piper advises Oliver Wyman on acquisition of Perth-based management consultancy

Global law firm DLA Piper has advised global management consulting firm, Oliver Wyman Pty Ltd on the acquisition of a 100 per cent stake in Perth-based management consulting firm Azure Consulting.

The acquisition will assist Oliver Wyman, which is a business of Marsh McLennan [NYSE: MMC], in its growth strategy for Australia and expand its position in the Energy and Natural Resources sectors, advancing its efforts to continue supporting clients in the transition to a net-zero future.

“We were pleased to advise Oliver Wyman in support of this acquisition, which bolsters their position in the industrials, energy and natural resources sectors,” said Mark Burger, Partner, DLA Piper.

“The acquisition was in alignment with the client’s global growth strategy and is a demonstration of the work we do globally in acquisitions,” Mark said.

Azure Consulting is recognised in the market for its strength in strategy development, organisational design and operations. The acquisition is Oliver Wyman’s second one in recent months. In Australia, the move follows Oliver Wyman’s recent launch of a Communications, Media, and Technology practice in the country.
DLA Piper’s multi-jurisdictional acting on the acquisition was led by Melbourne-based partner, Mark Burger. Mark was assisted by solicitor, Daisy Eales.

For the 12th consecutive year, DLA Piper was the highest-ranked legal advisor in the world for M&A deal volume, according to Mergermarket's league tables. The firm was involved in 1,104 transactions worldwide in 2021, valued at approximately US$242 billion.
