Communications Workshop and Cocktail Hour

How to answer “What do you do?” Telling your story so people will listen!

Wednesday, June 5, 2024

6:00 pm ET

DLA Piper’s Leadership Alliance for Women will host a one-hour evening workshop by communication and presentation skills trainer Chris Graham, How to answer “What do you do?” Telling your story so people will listen!

This interactive presentation, tailored to lawyers, will explore why the most common networking question is often the hardest to answer. The program will focus on how we can build real relationships by explaining what we do and answering questions in ways that encourage deeper discussion and exploration of shared goals or challenges.

Chris Graham is the founder of TellPeople, where he teaches lawyers and other professionals how to connect with their clients and teams. Since 2016, he’s trained more than 12,000 people at North America’s leading law firms, large and small companies, nonprofits, and government agencies. Prior to founding TellPeople, Chris worked at a top law firm in New York City and at one of Canada’s top indigenous rights law firms. He studied at Oxford University, University of Toronto Law School, and Acadia University, and is a graduate of the stand up comedy program at The Second City in Toronto.

We hope you’ll join us at our New York office for this workshop, followed by a cocktail hour where you will have the opportunity to exchange stories with your fellow guests.
