Pushing for progress

New Zealand Diversity and Inclusion Update

Our diversity and inclusion programme at DLA Piper in New Zealand has always enlisted and relied on the help of our employee base. Our employees own, drive, and enhance our programme.

In this update, we share more of the brilliant outcomes from our various D&I committees, including our market leading parental leave policy, a new gender transitioning policy, LGBTTQIA+ training, and deeper, more meaningful conversations about mental fitness and wellbeing. All this work completed by our people - in collaboration with partners and other leaders who are invested in creating a more inclusive workplace. Our fantastic employee base: pushing for progress.

There is still more to be done. As we strive to fulfil our basic obligation to ensure the inclusion of all individuals, we must also continue to monitor our progress, listen to the voices around us, and adjust as we learn more about diversity and inclusion from others. Meaningful change can't come from telling our employees what diversity and inclusion means. We have to see and hear them, invite all voices, and progress a strategy built on listening.
