Pablo Guzman has more than 30 years of experience representing Canadian and international businesses, including major Japanese multinationals, in complex commercial litigation, employment and insurance disputes arising in Quebec and across Canada. He helps clients navigate disputes, regulatory requirements and business risks through practical advice informed by a deep understanding of Quebec law.
Pablo acts in a broad range of commercial disputes, including representing defendants in class actions, manufacturers in product liability claims, contractual disputes, insolvency matters, and the enforcement of creditors’ rights. He also advises on the drafting, review, management and enforcement of commercial agreements and security interests.
His work extends to all aspects of employment law, from day-to-day policy and compliance to contentious matters. He advises leading industry employers on the investigation and sanctions of workplace harassment, violence and discrimination, medical evaluations and absence management, occupational health and safety requirements, and Quebec language obligations. Pablo leads the Employment Practice in DLA Piper’s Montreal office.
Pablo also advises insurers and other industry participants on coverage issues, insurers’ litigation defence and trends affecting the insurance sector in Quebec.
Drawing on his experience across these areas, Pablo serves as a strategic advisor to boards of directors and senior executives on dispute strategy and compliance with Quebec laws. He has appeared before the Court of Québec, the Superior Court of Québec and the Court of Appeal of Québec, as well as provincial and federal administrative tribunals.
