Garry is a former partner who stepped back from active practice to become counsel.  He now provides advice and guidance to his colleagues.

A professional forester with several years of operational experience in the forest industry in British Columbia, Garry's practice was focused on the regulatory and commercial aspects of forestry. His clients included timber tenure owners, log brokers, timber developers, First Nations, communities, trade associations, contractors and consultants. He has experience in timber and business acquisitions, First Nations, joint ventures, fibre supply agreements, regulatory compliance and service agreements related to forestry and logging.

As a forester, Garry worked in timber harvesting and forest administration in both private industry and the public sector in British Columbia. Prior to joining the firm in 1988, Garry practised as in-house counsel to a large integrated British Columbia forest products company.

Originally from Vancouver, Garry has practised law in British Columbia since 1982. He was closely involved in the forest industry and has maintained an active professional role in that area since 1974.

Community Involvement

  • Member, Coquitlam Search and Rescue since 2000. Participated in a large number of searches in southwestern British Columbia
  • One of a small number of civilian search dog handlers in B.C. Garry and his labrador retriever, Otto, are certified by the RCMP in both wilderness searching and tracking
  • Director for the Sea to Sky region of the British Columbia Search Dog Association
  • Director and Secretary of the British Columbia Search Dog Association
