Carly Meredith is an employment and privacy lawyer. She advises provincially and federally-regulated employers throughout the employment relationship on matters related to hiring, individual and collective terminations, performance and discipline management, the drafting and implementation of employment contracts and policies, workplace health and safety, harassment and discrimination complaints, and on strategic employment-related litigation.

She acts for targets and acquirers on employment and privacy issues in the course of key corporate/M&A transactions.

Carly also advises clients on provincial legislation compliance, including through privacy audits, the drafting and management of privacy policies, Quebec’s Charter of the French Language and applicable consumer protection legislation.

Since joining the firm in 2017, Carly has successfully appeared before Quebec’s Tribunal Administratif du Travail, Superior Court and Court of Appeal. She also successfully applied to the Supreme Court of Canada for the dismissal of a leave to appeal application.

Carly strives to provide her clients with innovative and pragmatic solutions to contemporary legal challenges. As a testament to this commitment, Carly recently enrolled at the University of Montreal in order to pursue further graduate-level studies in labour law.

Through her community engagement, Carly has been an active member of the United Irish Societies of Montreal and a member of the Board of Directors of a Montreal-based halfway house for over a decade. She is also passionate about contributing to her family’s annual Christmas basket initiative.
