EXPERIENCE

Christopher’s experience includes advising international, UK and Ireland-based financial services sector clients on:

  • Preparing and submitting various notification forms to the FCA/PRA on behalf of UK regulated entities (including in relation to material outsourcing arrangements).
  • Advising a range of financial institutions in connection with the development and execution of "Brexit-related" contingency plans in the UK and EU, including exiting the UK's Temporary Permission Regime.
  • Advising FinTech clients on the development and roll out of novel products and services including those that leverage open banking and distributed ledger technology.
  • Advising on the regulatory requirements for critical outsourcing arrangements.
  • Advising credit institutions on the regulatory aspects of the structure and sale of mortgage and consumer credit loan portfolios.
  • Advising a range of financial institutions (including banks) regarding their obligations under MiFID II/MiFIR/EMIR/CRD IV/CRR/AIFMD/UCITS V/Solvency II/BMR etc., including advice relating to Brexit planning.
  • Advising Financial institutions in relation to LIBOR transition, including the development and execution of migration projects.
  • Advising payment institutions on all aspects of PSD2, SEPA, Cross Border Payments Regulations, Interchange Fee Regulations.
  • Advising an international payment system on the settlement finality regime.
  • Advising pre-regulatory issues including regulatory aspects of this acquisition of license (or authorisation).
  • Advising clients on perimeter issues including whether they require authorisation under FSMA or other legislation.
  • Advising regulated firms on compliance with their ongoing obligations under regulatory rules.
  • Providing advice to non-UK entities wishing to establish a presence and/or passport into the UK from another EEA member state.
  • Advising Prestige Insurance on all regulatory aspects of its acquisition of Insure NI/Autoline.
  • Advising on regulatory perimeter issues for insurers and intermediariesin respect of claims handling and related activies.
