DLA Piper improve environmental score from Carbon Disclosure Project

DLA Piper has received an A- score from the Carbon Disclosure Project, a leading not-for-profit overseeing global environmental disclosure. This improves on the firm’s B rating in 2023.

The A- score demonstrates DLA Piper’s ongoing commitment to achieving its sustainability goals, and puts the firm in the top 7% of commercial and consumer companies.

Highlights of the firm’s environmental initiatives include:

  • Onboarding a new supplier management tool to help us better assess environmental, social, and governance risks in our supply chain and better engage with our suppliers on ESG issues.
  • Developing country-level carbon budgets for business travel and implementing a Thoughtful Travel framework.
  • Switching to renewable electricity in our offices, optimising key offices and planning fit-outs with sustainability in mind.
  • Continually improving our approach to reporting and developing a network of environmental leads and emissions champions to support this.

DLA Piper’s A- score surpasses both the Europe regional average of B and the commercial and consumer services sector average of C, showcasing the firm’s dedication to a sustainable future.

Jean-Pierre Douglas-Henry Partner and Managing Director, Sustainability and Resilience commented: “Our CDP score demonstrates our ongoing commitment to sustainability and supporting clients on their ESG journeys. While there is still a long way to go, we are integrating sustainability into all our operations and achieve our environmental goals.”

Sherry Madera, Chief Executive Officer at CDP, said: “A 1.5-degree future is still possible if the global community works in lockstep to get there. By sharing their environmental data with CDP, DLA Piper is continuing an environmental journey that will contribute to keeping that future in sight.”

Sustainability is a strategic priority for DLA Piper, which helps clients transition to, and thrive in, a more sustainable future.
