Lauren Murdza named a 2021 Unsung Hero by the Legal Intelligencer

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Lauren Murdza, a partner in the Philadelphia office, was named a 2021 Unsung Hero by the Legal Intelligencer for her outstanding work counseling prominent life science clients related to COVID-19. The award recognizes attorneys who are “instrumental behind the scenes in particularly important work.”

Significant matters highlighted by the publication included Murdza’s work on many of the early agreements to import antibody tests, a licensing transaction with the makers of the first effective antibody “cocktail” therapeutic and ultimately for her significant role in helping to bring to market a COVID-19 vaccine in record time. “Murdza’s most important legal work of 2020 has aligned with the pandemic’s own lifecycle,” the editors noted.

Murdza is a corporate attorney who advises life sciences, healthcare, biotech, medical device and technology companies and universities, in connection with technology transactions and general corporate matters. She represents clients in a broad range of commercial and corporate activities, including early-stage licensing and development agreements, global collaboration and promotional agreements, product acquisitions and divestitures, merger and acquisitions and private company financings. Her clients range from emerging growth companies to Fortune 500 companies in the US and Europe, specifically in the life sciences and technology sectors.
