Adrian is an experienced litigation lawyer having already advised major clients from various sectors on complex litigations, with focus on administrative, employment, insurance and enforcement proceedings.

He is a particularly fast-paced and flexible and has become a regular and trusted advisor. Adrian provides representation and assistance to clients both from Romania and abroad, in various disputes before Romanian courts, in civil law cases.

Highlights of his recent activity include, among others, assistance in complex ad hoc arbitration proceedings concerning insurance and reinsurance contracts, assistance in administrative disputes regarding the urbanism documentation in Romania for major clients, as well as real estate litigations regarding the registry of the rights in Land Registry, and "class action" employment litigations.

EXPERIENCE

  • A Class A reinsurance company, headquartered in Barbados, in relation to two ad hoc arbitration proceedings initiated by a Romanian insurance company, currently in bankruptcy, for the recovery of debts approx. of EUR 200 million, based on reinsurance agreements governed Romanian law.
  • A photovoltaics seller from Austria sold solar power equipment worth approximately EUR 22.4 million from 2023 to 2025, where the remaining balance of approximately EUR 22 million remains outstanding and presents a serious commercial risk for the client. DLA Piper assisted the client in navigating this distress situation with its suppliers, and is engaged to recover as much as possible from its debtors, in order to avoid triggering insolvency proceedings.
  • Hyosung Group on enforcing the assets and shares of five photovoltaic plants, including representation as both creditor and injured party, encompassing enforcement and insolvency proceedings, related challenges and the reorganisation plans.
  • KT Engineering on the recovery of approximately EUR45 million in connection with the construction and operation of photovoltaic plants in Romania, including advising on the commenced enforcement proceedings against the debtors, filing an application to open insolvency proceedings against the debtors, and assisting in reaching a settlement. Recovery was finalised and the client maintains the rights to further initiate an ICSID arbitration against the Romanian state.
