Robert Fettman’s practice focuses on insurance regulatory matters, with a particular emphasis on advising insurance companies, private equity firms, and other institutional investors on holding company regulations, insurance investments and related regulatory issues.
Robert regularly counsels clients on the full range of US insurance regulatory matters, including product development and filing strategies, regulatory examinations, corporate governance, compliance, insurer and agency licensing, and the regulatory treatment of investments. He frequently advises clients on navigating evolving National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) rules and state-level implementation of insurance holding company and investment-related regulations.
In addition to his core regulatory practice, Robert advises on transactional matters involving insurance companies and intermediaries. He has substantial experience guiding public and private insurers, private equity sponsors, and pension funds through complex acquisitions, minority investments, and other strategic transactions in the life and property/casualty sectors.
