Peter’s practice encompasses a broad range of issues associated with domestic and international commercial real estate. He specialises in dispute resolution, often in relation to high value contractual disputes, with significant experience in complex high court litigation.
Commercial real estate disputes can involve a wide spectrum of issues and Peter has experience advising on and dealing with development disputes, rights of light, risk mitigation and strategic advisory work for developments, sale contract disputes and a growing joint venture dispute practice.
Peter’s practice also covers alternative dispute resolution and he has extensive mediation experience. Peter has also recently advised various clients from both the Real Estate Sector and the Energy and Natural Resources Sector in relation to nuisance claims, as this area of law continues to develop.

EXPERIENCE
Acting for a large UK PLC on a Court of Appeal claim for breach of contract against a firm of solicitors who signed a contract on behalf of a purchaser that had yet to be incorporated. The case involved the application of UK, European and BVI company law.
Acting for a group of Claimant companies in the luxury leisure and tourism sector, relating to a claim for trespass, and seeking – and successfully obtaining rare – permanent injunctive relief preventing the trespasser from entering any of the Claimant group’s hotels across England and Wales, comprising over forty-five hotel premises.
Acting for a major property investment company in a High Court claim against a guarantor following the insolvency of the tenant under the lease.
Acting for a global real estate investor in a successful High Court possession action against squatters at a structurally unsafe property in London.
Acting for the European Medicines Agency in one of the most eagerly anticipated and leading cases following the United Kingdom’s decision to leave the European Union in relation to the impact of Brexit on leases.
Acting for Defendants in English High Court proceedings involving allegations of fraud, conspiracy, sham and misrepresentation in relation to a £100 million facility agreement.
Acting for multiple defendants in high-value, complex English High Court proceedings, involving claims of breach of contract, misuse of confidential information, breach of fiduciary duty, dishonest assistance, unlawful means conspiracy and procurement of breach.
Acting for a leading investment management firm in several multi-million pound claims against a joint venture partner in relation to the development of student accommodation across the UK. The work included international elements and involved managing several work streams, including corporate, insolvency and construction.
Peter has appeared several times in the High Court on behalf of some of the firm's key clients, making emergency submissions to Masters in respect of expedited possession proceedings and successfully seeking possession orders from the courts in particularly tight time frames.
