
Natasha Luther-Jones

Natasha has 25 years' experience working on UK, international and multi-jurisdictional energy and infrastructure projects. She has a particular focus on renewables (wind, solar, waste/AD); and other energy transition and clean energy infrastructure matters (including BESS, EV, data centres, smart grids and alternative fuels).
Natasha advises on developments, investments, financings, refinancings, acquisitions, disposals, and all the key project documentation (EPCs, O&Ms, service agreements and PPAs). She works with developers, contractors, lenders, equity investors, purchasers, sellers, utilities and off-takers in respect of the development, construction and operation of energy transition projects.
She has been assisting companies in meeting their sustainability objectives particularly through her instrumental role in developing DLA Piper's leading corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) practice (virtual and physical). Natasha has been heavily involved in the evolving corporate PPA landscape internationally since 2009.
Natasha consistently earns rankings in Legal 500 and Chambers. She is also in the Legal 500’s Hall of Fame for Energy and Projects and is recognised as a UK Green Ambassador. She has featured in The Lawyer Hot 100 and Yorkshire Lawyer of the Year. Natasha's inclusion in A Word About Wind's 'Legal Power List' and 'Women's Power List' emphasizes her influence in the global wind industry.

EXPERIENCE
Highlights of Natasha's experience includes leading teams advising::
- NORD/LB and NIB as Arrangers and Lenders on the c.EUR 64 million financing for two new solar farms with a capacity of 91MWp and an 18MW BESS site in Lithuania operated by Green Genius.
- Elgin Energy on multiple energy transactions including advising the shareholders on the landmark sale of a majority stake to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) in 2024.
- a large financial institution and Siemens Bank, as lenders on the refinancing of the 100 MW Richborough Energy Park Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).The Richborough facility, owned by Sosteneo, is recognised as one of the largest operational BESS projects in the UK.
- Kimberly-Clark on three virtual corporate PPAs in connection with 164 GWh of renewable electricity each year from two solar power facilities in Italy and one in Spain. The energy generated is equivalent to over 40% of the total electricity consumed by Kimberly-Clark's Western & Central European production facilities, located in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, and Czechia.
- Rabobank and NatWest as mandated lead arrangers and lenders on the GBP150 million financing of the 81 MW Pencloe onshore wind farm in Scotland developed and owned by Invenergy.
- Prime Capital on multiple energy transactions including:
- oon the acquisition of the 290 MW Lycksele onshore wind farm in Sweden from RES.This project was awarded Onshore M&A deal of the year at the Wind Investment Awards 2025;
- oon their investment into, and the financing of the 92.4 MW Sandbacka onshore wind farm in Finland;
- oon the development and construction of a co-located BESS project as an extension – one of the first in the country – to the 242 MW Lappfjärd wind farm in Finland. We advised on regulatory hurdles specific to co-location in Finland and guided the client through project structuring and development as well as obtaining lender consents as necessary;
- oon the acquisition of the 192 MW Lappfjärd wind farm from CPC Finland;
- oon a 254 MW wind farm in Sweden and subsequently advising DekaBank in relation to the financing of the project;
- oon the acquisition and financing of the 70 MW Lyckås onshore wind farm in Sweden; and
- acting for Prime Capital and Enlight Renewable Energy, on their co-investment in the ready-to-build 372 MW Björnberget wind park project in Sweden. This was one of the biggest greenfield onshore wind transactions in Europe in 2020.
- H&M as offtaker on several long-term virtual PPAs, ensuring consistent agreements globally, including:
- a long-term PPA with R.Power, to provide 50 GWh of clean electricity annually from solar assets in Poland to match consumption from H&M's operations in Poland;
- an amendment to a PPA to enable a battery storage element to be added to a Swedish project;
- three solar PPAs with Alight in Sweden for three solar sites (in Blekinge, Södermanland and Halland) with a combined capacity of 27MWp;
- oon the largest solar PPA to date in Sweden.The agreement with Neoen and Alight relates to a solar park on unused land at Hultsfred airport, with a capacity of 100MWp. on a PPA for three solar plants (Rocío 1, 2 and 3) with Matrix Renewables in Spain, with a total capacity of 129 MW; and
- oon a UK PPA for the Streetfields and Northfield House solar projects with global energy company Lightsource bp.
- AIB, Bank of Ireland and Société Générale on the EUR215 million project financing of a portfolio comprising seven solar farms across Ireland. The financing of the 300 MW portfolio, for Power Capital Renewable Energy, represents one of the largest financings of solar in Ireland to date.
