DLA Piper advises e-commerce platform Ecwid on Russian regulatory clearance of its acquisition by Lightspeed
DLA Piper has advised Ecwid, a global e-commerce platform that allows customers to create standalone businesses in minutes, on obtaining regulatory clearance from the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia for its acquisition by Lightspeed, a one-stop commerce platform for merchants around the world to simplify, scale and create exceptional customer experiences.
The combination of Lightspeed and Ecwid will help merchants reach shoppers where they are, whether on social media or digital marketplaces, ushering in newfound selling flexibility and omnichannel experiences.
The deal was successfully and timely approved by Russian competition authority thanks to the well-coordinated work of the teams.
DLA Piper’s Moscow team was led by partner and Head of Antitrust and Competition in Russia, Denis Gavrilov, assisted by senior associate Azamat Abdulmenov.
