EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a major German IT service provider, acting as the contractor in a direct award, during a regulatory review procedure before the Federal Public Procurement Tribunal, and representing the client in the subsequent appeal proceedings before the Higher Regional Court.
  • Providing ongoing advice to a local authority and various IT service providers on the preparation and conduct of, or participation in, tendering procedures, as well as in relation to objections and review proceedings.
  • Advising a German car manufacturer in supply chain disputes against national and international suppliers (including shortfall purchases).
  • Advising and representing a seed company in a civil and company law dispute, including conducting proceedings for interim injunctions.

Prior Experience

Previously, Janina Strunk advised companies, trade associations and public authorities across various sectors on all aspects of public commercial law at DLA Piper. Her practice focused on environmental and product law. Her work encompassed both day-to-day advisory services and representation before public authorities and in court. She also advised on foreign trade law, particularly in relation to export and investment controls.

During her legal clerkship, Janina Strunk worked for the Federal Cartel Office in Bonn, a major international law firm in Düsseldorf as well as a German commercial law firm in Cologne in the fields of antitrust law.

Prior to this, she worked for 5 years as a research assistant for a major international corporation in the tobacco sector.
