Cyber Security – the latest trends

CYBERUK 2024 fringe event - in-person breakfast seminar

As the cyber industry's attention turns to Birmingham and CYBERUK 2024, the UK's flagship cyber security conference, join us for breakfast on Tuesday 14 May as we discuss the latest in cyber security, in partnership with West Midlands Growth Company.

David Cook, Cyber Security Partner at DLA Piper, will explain why investment in cyber security should be a priority for an information security team but should also actually be high up on the agenda of the legal team too. He will explain why the technical and legal silos cause problems for organisations. He will also explain how enforcement trends are helping shape the legal standard of care for infosec and what “appropriate” looks like.

We will then be joined by the renowned Professor Prashant Pillai MBE, a Pro Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Cyber Security at the University of Wolverhampton. Professor Pillai will be in conversation with DLA Piper's Kurt Davies about his recent work relating to the intersection of cyber security and artificial intelligence.

You'll have the opportunity before and after the seminar for networking - to meet our speakers and ask any questions you may have.

For those attending CYBERUK 2024, our office is a five-minute walk from the International Convention Centre, leaving you plenty of time to make your way across for the first sessions. For those who aren’t attending CYBERUK, you’re more than welcome to work from our offices subject to availability, just let your DLA Piper contact know in advance.
