DLA Piper advises Generali on the takeover of management of MetLife OFE and MetLife DFE

DLA Piper advised Generali Powszechne Towarzystwo Emerytalne on the takeover of management of MetLife Otwarty Fundusz Emerytalny and Dobrowolny Fundusz Emerytalny from MetLife PTE S.A., belonging to the Nationale-Nederlanden group.

Generali Poland is part of the Generali Group, which is one of the largest global insurance and asset management companies. Founded in 1831, it is present in 50 countries around the world. Generali has been operating in Poland since 1998. It provides its customers with comprehensive insurance protection at every stage of their lives: from property insurance, such as car insurance, home insurance, business insurance through life insurance, both individual and group insurance, to pension and investment funds.

With acquisition of funds from MetLife, Generali PTE S.A. rises in the ranking of pension fund managers in Poland to 4th place with about 13% market share, PLN19.2 billion (approx. EUR4 billion) in assets under management and 2.4 million customers.

The transaction was led by Rafał Kluziak and Jakub Szczygieł with the support of Natalia Cichocka and Konrad Nazarowski from DLA Piper's Warsaw Corporate and M&A team.
