  • Advising VARTA AG on a joint venture with Porsche in the field of large-format lithium-ion cells.
  • Advising VARTA AG on the conclusion of several material contracts with its financiers and investors, as well as on bridge financing as part of the ongoing restructuring plan under the German Act on the Further Facilitation of the Energy Transition (StaRUG).
  • Advising Keensight Capital on the acquisition of various companies, including Quanos Solutions, Onventis, Aconso, Bentley and Advancis.
  • Advising ARKANCE, a leading European company specialized in the digital transformation of the construction and industrial sectors, and a subsidiary of B2B services group Monnoyeur, on the acquisition of VinZero.
  • Advising various large corporations on restructurings, in particular related to IDW S6 and IDW S11 queries.
  • Advising on various cross-border reorganisations in the insurance and real estate sector.
  • Advising a PE-fund on the acquisition of a data center provider in Frankfurt.
  • Advising a consulting firm on the sale of a stake in the context of a bidding process.

Daniel wrote a dissertation concerning compliance risk management in M&A transactions (under review).

Daniel’s latest published papers concern the liability of notified bodies in EU-conformity assessments and the attribution of affiliate GDPR infringements in group scenarios (both written in collaboration with Prof Dr Michael Nietsch).

Prior Experience

Before joining DLA Piper, Daniel has worked for another international law firm (Corporate & M&A, Capital Markets). Prior to that he was a research assistant and lecturer at EBS Law School, Wiesbaden and worked for another law firm (insolvency law).
