Cody Koblinsky is an associate in DLA Piper's Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations group in Toronto.
Cody advises clients on a broad range of commercial and civil litigation matters, offering practical, client-focused counsel tailored to each client's unique goals. He works closely with clients throughout the life of a file – assessing positions, identifying strategic options, and charting the most effective path forward. When litigation is the right approach, Cody is a tenacious advocate who works tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcomes.
A significant portion of Cody's practice is devoted to construction disputes, where he has developed extensive experience representing contractors in construction lien matters and related litigation.
Cody is also a member of DLA Piper's Expropriation Group, where he helps landowners and businesses navigate the expropriation process and secure fair compensation when government authorities acquire their property.
Committed to community service, Cody is a strong advocate for pro bono work at the firm. He helps lead the Black and Indigenous Business Law Clinic in Toronto, which provides free legal support to entrepreneurs from underrepresented communities.
Before law school, Cody earned a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree from Western University and spent time as a high school mathematics teacher and tutor.
Cody joined DLA Piper as an associate in 2021 after summering and articling with the firm.
When he's not in the office, Cody is probably playing recreational hockey or volleyball, trying to learn a new instrument, or focusing on being a devoted father to his two cats.
