Alex Plakas focuses his practice on complex transactions for private equity funds and their portfolio companies. He also counsels private or family-owned companies and publicly held corporations on various general corporate and mergers and acquisitions matters. His clients value his pragmatic approach to problem solving and his commerciality on transactions.
Alex complements wide-ranging transactional knowledge with a keen understanding of the objectives and risks associated with his clients' industries, enabling him to serve as a strategic and transactional advisor. He leads deal teams across numerous key industries, including business services, food and beverage, insurance, health care, technology, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, and transportation and aviation services.
Alex was a partner at two other major, international law firms prior to joining DLA Piper. At the latter of the two firms, Alex co-led the private equity practice and served as a member of the board of directors.
