Sam Bogetti is a competition lawyer who advises on the full spectrum of Canadian competition and foreign investment matters and defends complex class action disputes. He guides clients through merger control in Canada and across key global regimes, Competition Bureau inquiries and investigations, allegations of abuse of dominance and anti competitive collaboration, and private actions under the Competition Act. He also regularly counsels on deceptive marketing laws, including false or misleading advertising, drip pricing and other unfair practices; develops promotional pricing and discount strategies; and designs practical compliance programs to mitigate antitrust and consumer protection risk. Sam also advises on foreign ownership and control restrictions, including national security reviews, under the Investment Canada Act.

Sam defends class actions and related litigation involving price fixing and other Competition Act claims, product liability and alleged negligent design, consumer protection and false advertising issues, and other Canadian class proceedings.

He has acted for clients across a broad variety of sectors including retail, media and entertainment, airline, hotel and hospitality, manufacturing and distribution, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, software and technology, capital markets, automotive and shipping, and electronics.

Sam serves on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Bar Association’s BC Class Actions Section and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada (Ones to Watch) from 2024-2026.
