Program
The Goal
DLA Piper is seeking exceptional student athletes wishing to pursue a career in the legal profession. We believe that student athletes have what it takes to succeed in law school and as lawyers - discipline, focus, resilience, and leadership. Our goal is to support the next generation of successful lawyers by providing opportunities to students who might otherwise not have considered a career in law.
The Program
LEAP (Legal Elite Athlete Pipeline)
LEAP program details- Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies at an accredited or nationally recognized college or university
- Participated in at least two years of a competitive intercollegiate athletic program offered by an accredited college or university
- $1,000 for application fees or LSAT prep course-related expenses
- $5,000 law school scholarship to an ABA-accredited law school
Application
The Application
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Candidates will complete an online application demonstrating strong academic performance, leadership and participation in school and community activities, a personal statement, and an online recommendation.
In the statement, the candidate is encouraged to focus on any personal growth experiences or lessons that the candidate has learned as a result of the candidate’s background, upbringing, experiences, socioeconomic status, or inclusion in an underrepresented community.
Applications will be accepted from September 1 to November 2, 2026.
