DLA Piper partner Scott Wilson named a Law360 Compliance Rising Star

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that partner Scott Wilson has been named a 2021 Law360 Compliance Rising Star. Wilson was one of just five compliance attorneys nationwide selected by Law360 for its annual list of Rising Stars, highlighting the top attorneys in the country under 40 “whose legal accomplishments transcend their age.” This year’s Rising Star winners were selected from over 1,400 submissions.

“It's a practice area I find very rewarding because you are focusing on where the rubber hits the road, where the real risks are," Wilson told Law360. "And [my job is] either mitigating those risks before they materialize or advocating for the company before a regulator when things have gone wrong and you need to explain that and find a way to justify or correct the conduct.”

The publication highlighted Wilson’s representation of a multinational Fortune 100 company in a federal foreign corruption investigation that included more than 100 witness interviews and numerous grand jury subpoenas, as well as his experience serving as senior advisor and special counsel to the New York Attorney General. Law360 also noted Wilson’s role as co-chair of the firm’s recently launched State Attorneys General practice.

In his practice, Wilson advises clients in government and internal investigations, white collar criminal matters and high-stakes litigation, often with an international component. He has represented some of the most successful multinational companies in the world in Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and other white collar and regulatory matters. Wilson also represents clients in complex business disputes in federal and state courts and domestic and international arbitration.
