Kit Burden elected to DLA Piper International Board

Kit Burden, an Intellectual Property and Technology partner based in DLA Piper’s London office, has been elected to the firm’s International Board.

The International Board supports the organisation’s long-term success and sustainability, exercising strategic oversight and decision making which takes into account the interests of the firm’s people, clients and wider communities. Kit’s new term of office started on 1st January 2023 and will extend for an initial term of four years.

Kit was, until recently, International Sector Head for the Firm’s Technology Sector, a position he held for nine years. He continues to advise clients in the areas of outsourcing and complex technology transactions, advising both users and suppliers of IT, and outsourcing services in relation to all aspects of the procurement process.

Jon Hayes, Global Co-Chair of DLA Piper and Senior Partner of DLA Piper International, said: “DLA Piper has always had a focus on innovation. As a technology specialist, Kit will provide the Board with a unique and invaluable perspective on the challenges and opportunities for both our clients and us as a firm as our businesses adapt to and exploit technological advances. Coupled with his deep appreciation of the Board’s role as custodians of the firm’s values, Kit is a very welcome addition to the Board and we greatly look forward to his contribution.”

Kit Burden added: “It is an honour to be invited to sit on the Board and I greatly look forward to contributing to the continued success of the firm. My longstanding role as International Sector Head for Technology has provided me with a front row seat to view the fast changing global technology landscape, both within the legal industry and sector wide. This will allow me to bring a diversity of thought and strategic insight to the Board in terms of how we must adapt to exploit the opportunities of digital transformation and to ensure that we are at the forefront of developments in the industry that go beyond the traditional law firm model.”
