David is a corporate lawyer with over 25 years’ experience of advising Irish, US and multinational companies in the life sciences, technology and financial services industries. He is qualified in Ireland, England and Wales, and New York.
He believes passionately in the merits of diversity, innovation, a global perspective and learning from his clients and colleagues.
David has significant experience of helping clients with reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions, and of advising multinational and growing companies on expanding their global footprint, with all the complexities this brings.
He focuses on multinational and foreign direct investment, assisting Irish and international clients, particularly those from the US, the UK and Asia.
Recent examples of David’s work include acting for a leading pharmaceutical technology corporation on its re-domiciliation to Ireland, acting for UPMC on the acquisition and sale of a private Irish hospital, and acting for an Ireland-based pharmaceutical company on its USD135 million disposal to a healthcare company.
He previously held the non-executive positions of Chairman of the Ireland India Business Association and President of the Irish Exporters Association.
David is the founder member of DLA Piper in Ireland and continues to enjoy building the firm in Ireland and collaborating with his international colleagues.
