Two new partners join DLA Piper’s Intellectual Property and Technology practice in London

DLA Piper has appointed two new partners, Patricia Collis who joins from Bird & Bird on 13 December and Rebecca Lawrence who joins on 10 January after a short career break from Powell Gilbert. Before joining DLA Piper, Rebecca ran a company she founded to licence and commercialise a design archive.

Patricia was a senior lawyer within Bird & Bird’s market leading IP practice focused on Brand Management, where she has been heavily involved in the growth of the Brand Management and Product Design teams in the UK and internationally. She represents high-profile, international clients across a range of sectors including aviation, retail / luxury consumer goods, sport and telecommunications, covering all aspects of brand protection (trademarks and designs) and portfolio management, including registry / administrative dispute proceedings.

Rebecca’s practice focuses on Life Sciences patent litigation and she has been involved in many cases in the sector through the High Court, Court of Appeal, the House of Lords and the CJEU. In addition to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices patents, Rebecca has litigated patents in the fields of engineering, telecoms, electronics and greentech.
