DLA Piper adds Bruno Soares as partner in the cross-border Project Finance Practice
DLA Piper is pleased to add Bruno Soares as a partner in the firm’s cross-border Project Finance Practice, expanding the firm’s already strong presence between New York and Latin America.
Soares has more than 20 years of experience advising on a variety of cross-border transactions including banking, projects, M&A and capital markets, particularly in the energy, natural resources, infrastructure, soft commodities, data and fintech sectors. In addition to his focus on Brazil and Latin America, Soares also does extensive work in Africa.
His notable experience includes representing the largest Latin American credit card processing company in a US$1 billion bilateral credit facility with The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi; representing borrowers, guarantors, and sponsors in the restructuring of its US$3.1 billion project financing for the development of an integrated steel-slab mill located in the State of Ceará, Brazil.
“As a Chambers and Legal 500-recognized attorney, Bruno is well-versed across the full spectrum of highly complex financial matters. He will be critical in upholding our high-value client service, both in the US and abroad,” said Richard Chesley, Co-US Managing Partner.
“Our clients will immediately benefit from Bruno’s extensive experience providing innovative legal counsel to multi-jurisdictional banking and finance matters. We’re excited to welcome Bruno to our firm,” said Cara Edwards, Managing Partner of the firm’s New York office.
