About

Juan Pablo Reverendo focuses his legal practice on M&A, Corporate Law, Venture Capital and Private Equity. He advises domestic and international clients on mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures in both national and cross-border transactions, on market entries as well as on general corporate matters.

He is also especially dedicated to providing legal advice to entrepreneurs, angel investors and VC funds in the creation, formation and expansion of startups. He advises on the organization of startups and capital structuring between founders, employees and investors; in the design of local and international structuring of Angel Funds and VCs for their investment in Argentina and other countries in the region; and in venture capital fundraising assistance.
 
Prior to joining DLA Piper, Juan Pablo advised start-ups on international VC rounds for a short period of time. Previously, he served as Legal Manager of the Southern Cone LATAM subsidiaries of Philip Morris International (NYSE PM), where he actively participated in some of the company's most complex legal matters. 
 
For four consecutive years, Juan Pablo collaborated as assistant professor of Civil Law at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). 
 
He participated as a speaker in five international commercial arbitration competitions, including the William C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and is currently one of the coaches of the International Arbitration Team of the Universidad Austral.

Prior Experience

In 2016, Juan Pablo joined the Argentinian affiliate of Philip Morris International (NYSE PM) as a legal intern. Since then and until 2021, Juan Pablo transitioned through different positions of higher hierarchy and responsibility, until he was promoted to legal manager. 
 
During all those years at PM, Juan Pablo was in charge of providing legal advice to cross-functional projects of high complexity, which involved, among others, a wide variety of legal matters such as constitutional law, finance and tax law, IP law, competition law and employment law in both, international and domestic law. He was also responsible for drafting and reviewing bills closely to the Corporate Affairs Department. He also advised different company’s areas on special projects such as the closing of one of the facilities in Argentina; the reorganization of the company's business and sales model, the adoption of the European Union's GDPR in the southern cone; and personnel restructuring, among others. He was recognized and awarded three times by PMI with the Above and Beyond Call of Duty Award for his performance in some of those projects. 

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Juan Pablo served as an associate at Tanoira Cassagne Abogados in the Venture Capital, Innovation and Digital Transformation area, specially dedicated to providing legal advice to entrepreneurs, angel investors, and VC funds in the creation, formation and expansion of new companies. He advised on the organization of start-ups and capital structuring between founders, employees and investors; on the design of local and international structuring of Angel Funds and VCs for their investment in Argentina and other countries of the region; on the assistance of VC fund raising; and on the negotiation and structuring of M&A.
