DLA Piper welcomes Rita Piel as a partner in the Corporate Practice

DLA Piper is pleased to welcome Baltimore-based Rita Piel as the newest partner in the firm’s Corporate Practice.

Piel advises start-ups to Fortune 100 companies in business and intellectual property and technology law. Her work encompasses M&A, financings, and recapitalization transactions. She also works on large licensing and development contracts.

Piel serves as the lead attorney in structuring and executing public and private M&A transactions and government contracts. She represents government contractors in drafting, reviewing, and advising on proposals; drafting and negotiating subcontractor, teaming, and licensing agreements; and overseeing bid protests.

“Rita boasts extensive knowledge in strategic sectors and areas of growth for our clients, particularly in life sciences, technology, and biotechnology. We are excited to welcome her to the firm,” said Andrew Gilbert, US chair of the Corporate Practice.
