Michael advises institutions and individuals regarding various financial services issues. He focuses his practice on government investigations and enforcement proceedings, compliance advice, litigation, internal corporate investigations, and transactional due diligence, primarily relating to financial services, consumer protection statutes and various state and federal regulations affecting bank and non-bank financial services providers. 

Michael defends institutions on matters relating to unfair, deceptive or abusive acts or practices (UDAAP); fair lending (ECOA and FHA); fair credit reporting (FCRA); consumer disclosures (TILA); electronic fund transfers (EFTA); securities issues and debt collection (FDCPA). He regularly represents clients before the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, state attorneys general, and state and federal bank regulators.

Michael is committed to advancing equitable access to legal services by taking on numerous pro bono cases and volunteer projects throughout the year.
